SUMMARY:Dental Sleep Medicine and TMD Mini Residency - ApnoMed
DESCRIPTION:This 3-session\, 36 CE  hybrid program focuses on treating maxillofacial discrepancies\, malocclusion\, masticatory-temporomandibular joint disorders\, and dental sleep medicine for pediatrics and adults. Limited to 8 participants per Cohort\, this program allows for a focused learning environment where participants will be actively engaged with hands-on learning modules. This is the only mini-residency program that simultaneously addresses TMD and Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders (SRBD) for pediatrics and adults utilizing proprietary and proven technologies and treatment philosophies taught by Dr. Joseph Yousefian\, which includes cutting-edge appliances with ApnoTX and aligners. \nCohort 1: \n1 – Session 1\, Online Self-study (4 hours)\n\n2 – Session 2\, On-site (2-days) September 26-27\, 2025\n\n3 – Session 3\, On-site (2-days) November 14-15\, 2025\n\nCohort 2:\n1 – Session 1\, Online Self-study (4 hours)\n2 – Session 2\, On-site (2-days) January 23-24\, 2026\n3 – Session 3\, On-site (2-days) April 24-25\, 2026\n\nMEET THE FACULTY\nJoseph Yousefian\, DMD\, M.S\nSue Vetter\, DDS\nSal Rodas\, MBA\nRyan Yousefian\, M.S\n\nATTENTION AAPMD MEMBERS\n\nDownload AAPMD Flyer Here\n\nUse code aapmd2025 at checkout for a 10% discount – $550 value\n\n\n\nREGISTER/INFO

SUMMARY:Neurobiology-guided Treatments of Circadian-based Sleep DisordersJamie Marc Zeitzer\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:Understanding the pathophysiology of sleep disorders can lead to more targeted and robust treatments. Shift work and delayed sleep in adolescents share insufficient sleep duration; yet they differ vastly in the underlying cause. Novel treatments that specifically target the etiology of these disorders will be discussed. \nThree learning objectives: \n(1) Understand the cause and treatment of shift work disorder \n(2) Understand the etiology of delayed sleep in adolescents \n(3) Understand the ways to passively target circadian sleep disorders using light flash therapy \nDr. Zeitzer\, PhD\, is a professor of psychiatry and behavioral medicine at Stanford University and a health science specialist at the Palo Alto VA. He co-directs the Stanford Center for Sleep and Circadian Sciences. Using a combination of in-laboratory\, field\, clinical trial\, and in silico modeling\, his work focuses on understanding and optimizing the non-image forming aspects of light to improve circadian functioning and overall health. He has published more than 150 primary articles generating more than 13\,000 citations. \nREGISTER/INFO
