Integrative Dental Medicine: The Next Great Frontier
“For the times, they are a-changin,'” wrote Bob Dylan in the 60’s, during a time of great turmoil in the U.S. The same can be said today in the health arena… Covid, a broken health care system, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, chronic inflammation, TMD and sleep apnea. What’s Dentistry’s role in changing the health of America? Let’s talk about it and develop a plan of attack!
Learning Objectives
- Each attendee will understand the 3 pillars of Integrative Dental Medicine
- Each attendee will receive an IDM checklist
- Each attendee will understand the link between inflammation, breathing and TMD
Dr. Wilkerson grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida where he spent 100’s of hours on the water and on the golf course. He later played with the golf team at the University of Florida. After completing dental school at UF in 1982, he moved back to St. Pete joining the prestigious practice of Dr. Peter Dawson. Over the past 30+ years, Witt has taught classes at the Dawson Academy, where over 40,000 dentists have studied Occlusion, Restorative Dentistry and TMD. Over the past 10 years, Witt’s focus has been directed toward elevating Dentistry as a true specialty field of medicine and complete health, coining the term: “Integrative Dental Medicine,” which we will be learning much more about today.
Witt and his wife Patricia have been married 40 years and have 3 children and a 7 year old granddaughter. The family enjoys attending UF Gator football games and traveling together.
