An O2 Global Airway Health Presentation – Medication Matters: How Common Prescriptions Influence Airway, Breathing, and Sleep
Nicholas Lombardo, PharmD
This session explores the often-overlooked impact of medications on airway stability, sleep quality, and breathing. Attendees will gain practical insights into drug classes that affect airway tone, inflammation, and sleep architecture, with a focus on red flags, de-prescribing opportunities, and strategies for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify major medication classes that directly or indirectly affect airway function and sleep.
- Recognize red flags in medication regimens that may worsen airway collapse, inflammation, or weight gain.
- Apply strategies to optimize medication use and improve interdisciplinary management of airway and sleep-disordered breathing.
