A graduate of SUNY at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and the Buffalo VAMC residency program, Dr. Hindin practices general dentistry with an emphasis on the treatment of craniofacial pain, TMD and sleep disorders.

Dr. Hindin has developed a system of evaluating physiology in the medical or dental office. He is conducting clinical research into the relationship between performance, splint therapy, physiological function and heart rate variability and is the lead dentist in the Proof of Concept Study of an Oral Orthotic to Reduce Tic Severity in Chronic Tic Disorder and Tourette Syndrome at Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is a founding board member of the American Academy of Physiological Medicine and Dentistry and the Foundation for Airway Health. Dr. Hindin recently became an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and teaches the Continuum In Sleep-Related Disorders and Health Solutions.

Dr. Hindin has developed a system of instrumentation to monitor HRV and ANS balance and add a new level of understanding and care for patients with airway disorders. The HindexRV® system produces objective data on the physiological effects of altered jaw position, tooth positioning and other dental procedures. Dr. Hindin has lectured internationally on this subject and is also an instructor and expert in software development for the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe. He incorporates biofeedback modalities into patient care.

Dr. Hindin is active in many professional societies including Diplomate of the American Board of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry, Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology and memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Academy of Pain Management, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, and Academy of Laser Dentistry.
