I recently saw a reference to “Extraction Derangement Syndrome.” Do extractions &/or retraction really affect patients functionally? emotionally? esthetically? Not all, but too many people suffer from E.R.R.S.™, but how many? To what extent? Can you tell who will suffer and who won’t? Let’s have a discussion.
Learning Objectives:
Bill Hang, DDS, graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and the University of Minnesota Orthodontic program where he briefly taught orthodontics. He was in clinical practice for 50 years.
Having been traditionally trained, he extracted teeth for crowding and often retracted the teeth. For the last 40 years, however, he has been a pioneer in non-retractive treatments to improve the airway in patients of all ages. Having lectured and published internationally, Dr Hang received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the AAPMD for his work.
Now semi-retired, Dr. Hang founded OrthO2Health™ to teach and mentor doctors about airway healthy orthodontic treatments for all ages.
