Jaw Position and Sensory Input to Nervous System
Dwight Jennings, DDS, MICCMO
May 10 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT
Jaw misalignment causes major sensory input into the brain that has been shown to induce a broad spectrum of pathology. Research through bite destruction in animals reflects what happens in humans. This evidence supports screening of patients with certain medical conditions for jaw misalignment.
Learning Objectives:
- Educate as to neurological pathways involved in jaw misalignment
- Know pathology associated with jaw misalignment
- Inform of research in this area
Dr. Jennings graduated from the University of Pacific School of Dentistry in 1976. His practice has been limited to jaw orthopedics, orofacial pain, and dental medicine for the past 40+ years. He has pursued clinical research involving the oral-systemic link and application of jaw orthopedics for the treatment of medical disorders.
