Mattresses and Pillows for Efficient Sleep
Trudy Messer, PT, OCS™, E-RYT-200, CKPT, CFMT™

February 21 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST

It is likely a ubiquitous event to have a conversation with a patient regarding an orthopedic problem, medical condition, sleep disorder (including snoring) and recommend the patient get a new mattress or pillow. But beyond recommending a new sleeping device, is your level of knowledge on support surfaces adequate? In this webinar, you will learn the basics of understanding sleep supports and how to “prescribe” based on a multi-faceted approach. You will gain knowledge that the marketing and advertising from mattress websites and stores are not adequately prepared to take care of the needs of our patients…but you will be!

Learning Objectives:

  1. To be able to understand the components of a support surface for sleep.
  2. To be able to make a determination on the most efficient support surface based on patient’s subjective and medical history.
  3. To be able to discuss the correct pillow for a patient dependent on sleep position.
