Myofunctional Influences on Facial Growth and the Dentition
John Flutter, BDS Dental

March 11 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

  1. Crooked teeth, TMJ dysfunction and Sleep Related breathing disorders are symptoms of the same problem: poor cranial growth.
  2. Poor cranial growth is associated with the maxillae positioned more down and back from the ideal position
  3. In the primary and mixed dentition improving tongue posture and lip seal can be improved to reduce cranial distortions

Dr John Flutter has over forty years of experience in dentofacial orthopaedics and has lectured in over seventy countries worldwide on this topic to dentists, orthodontists, sleep physicians, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and dental assistants.  He has visited dental and orthodontic offices in many of these countries consulting and advising on treatment delivery.  Dr John has been in general practice for over fifty years and has owned general dental practices in England, Australia and Ukraine.  He has worked in Singapore and done voluntary work in Vanuatu and Timor Leste. He now lives in London and divides his time between teaching worldwide and consulting in his clinic in Kyiv.
