ORTHOPEDIC STABILITY IN AIRWAY DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PLANNING

When screening and diagnosing for airway dysfunction, skeletal growth, orthodontic treatment, tongue ties, etc, it’s important to evaluate the position and stability of the skeleton, TMJ and occlusion. A proper treatment plan is created from a stable position and must be taken into account when determining the proper treatment sequence and treatment choices.

3. How to use our own biology to maintain a long term stable position after airway development
Dr. Tim Herre is a third generation dentist who graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry. A biological dentist, he aims to connect the dots between the mouth and whole body health for his patients. His passion is identifying growth and developmental concerns for young children and collaborating with other practitioners to allow his patients to flourish into healthy adults. He also helps his adult patients thrive by harnessing the healing power of proper breathing, sleep and real food. His holistic practice in Leawood, Kansas focuses on Airway, TMJ, Sleep, Tongue Tie, Orthodontics, and Bio-Rejuvenation Dentistry.
Health is rarely a straight forward path. In connecting his own dots, Dr. Tim experienced the very treatment he recommends to patients, including a tongue tie release, surgery to help with nasal breathing, TMJ bite stabilization, myofunctional therapy, lip taping and home sleep screenings.
