Reaching Your Potential as Dentists in Healthcare
Mark Abramson, DDS, DABOP, DABDSM, DABPM, FAACP
Dentists are in a unique specialty in medicine with our understanding of critical areas of health that have to do with the cranial mandibular system.
There are many areas that our health is dependent upon: cranial facial growth and development; neck and spinal posture; muscle health and coordination; balance; hearing; neck pain, and of course airway and breathing.
This presentation is an overview of many areas that you can claim as your role as a healthcare provider by expanding your understanding of integrative healthcare approaches. These areas include mindfulness, mind/body medicine, integrative concepts of acupuncture, and osteopathic principles. We will look at new treatments for speech and myofunctional therapy, balance dysfunction and appliances for treating the entire upper airway at once, including nasal patency and to throat function as well as mandibular repositioning.
