The Cohesion of Movement and Breath: Creating harmony for self- healing

This webinar is designed to help the viewer understand how combining simple movements and breath practices can empower patients to actively engage in their healing journey. Learn and experience how the ancient practice of Qi Gong provides an accessible bridge between complex physiology and an internal state of clarity, emotional equanimity, and self- healing.

Learning objectives :

1. A review on the body’s natural stress response and its impact on our ability to heal
2. An exploration of the physiological mechanisms associated with breathing and movement, highlighting how their combination can enhance the body’s innate self-healing abilities
3. A discovery of how the simple practice of Qi Gong can effectively complement a patient’s care plan. This can lead to improved reception of parallel interventions within collaborative care

Alex Blank, PT, DPT, CFMT graduated from Stony Brook University with his Doctorate in physical therapy in 2016. Since then he has completed his certification in functional manual therapy with the Institute of Physical Art graduating with high honors. Additionally, he has since added to his knowledge base by specializing in orthopedics through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is currently undergoing Rosalba Courtney’s Integrated Breathing Therapy practitioner training, a program he intends to complete by the end of 2023.

In addition to his clinical practice Alex is a certified Qi Gong practitioner and teaches qigong to help people find wellness outside the medical model. He is passionate about bringing the information rooted in this ancient practice into the lens of modern research as well as helping people reconnect to their bodies and to their minds.

Alex currently practices in Old Greenwich CT and teaches Qi Gong throughout Fairfield and Westchester County.
