The AAPMD PHYSICAL THERAPY SECTION – THE TRIGEMINAL CERVICAL COMPLEX: THROUGH A MANUAL THERAPY LENS

The Trigeminal Cervical Complex (TCC) is an innate physiological system which plays a primary role in processing integration of sensory and motor function within the cranio-cervical region.This webinar will provide an introduction to the TCC along with providing basic physiological and mechanistic research to support why the TCC is an important consideration when working with patients with the following issues: airway dysfunction, headaches, mal-occlusion, TMD, neck pain and ocular disturbances in addition to many others. This webinar will also discuss an integrated treatment philosophy and a basic structural assessment process which acknowledges the TCC and will provide case examples where acknowledging the TCC led to positive outcomes.
Garrett is a Manual Physical Therapist who completed his Fellowship training in Functional Manual Therapy through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA), The American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) and was a part of the Functional Manual Therapy Fellowship Faculty. He works with a broad range of orthopedic and performance patients with an emphasis on headaches, airway, TMD, runners and patients with scoliosis. Based on anatomical and physiological research, he developed an evolving Manual Therapy treatment pathway for working with the Trigeminal-Cervical Complex, which integrates multiple paradigms and the treatment of many issues of the cranio-cervical region. Garrett owns and operates Motivity PT in Chicago IL and is actively considering opening a second location in San Diego, CA.
