Code of Conduct for Classified Ads
1. Professionalism & Accuracy
- Postings must describe a genuine, available position.
- All information should be accurate, complete, and not misleading.
- Ads should be written in a professional tone, free from offensive or inflammatory language.
2. Non-Discrimination
- Employers must comply with equal opportunity laws: no discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Phrases like “young,” “Christian only,” “male/female only” are not permitted unless legally required (e.g., bona fide occupational qualifications).
3. Fair Labor Practices
- Postings must comply with applicable labor laws, including minimum wage, overtime, and internship/volunteer rules.
- Ads for unpaid roles should clearly state if the position is volunteer or internship, and must meet legal standards.
4. No Misuse of the Platform
- Ads cannot be used for pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing (MLM), or other deceptive opportunities.
- No solicitation for personal services outside of a legitimate job.
- No spamming, duplicate postings, or unrelated advertising.
5. Clarity of Role
- Clearly state: job title, responsibilities, qualifications, location (remote or in-person), and compensation details (if legally required in your jurisdiction).
- Contact information for the hiring entity must be valid and transparent.
6. Respect & Privacy
- Ads should not request sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers, bank account details) as part of the application.
- Résumé or application materials should be used solely for evaluating candidates for the posted role.
7. Approval & Removal
- All postings are subject to administrative review and approval.
- The administrator reserves the right to reject or remove any posting that does not meet these standards or violates organizational values.
