The 2020 Collaboration Cures Conference focuses on “interdisciplinary collaborative care” for optimal treatment outcomes. Throughout the conference, practitioners of any one discipline will discuss their approach, and why collaborating with other disciplines achieves optimal health for all. Presenters have been asked to address the collaborative approach in their presentations.

 CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Collaboration Cures – a meeting that has become a movement! An ever-growing body of evidence supports the belief that the epidemic of chronic diseases has common origins.

A WHO paper on multi-morbidities states “Long-term disorders are the main challenge facing health-care systems worldwide, but health systems are largely configured for individual diseases, rather than multi-morbidity.”

In an increasingly diverse and informed world, patients are recognizing this disparity and demanding customized healthcare that addresses the root cause of their illness. How can you meet their demands and provide the best possible care? Simply put: Collaboration.

No one physician, no one discipline and no one philosophy can provide optimal outcomes in today’s healthcare landscape. Our meeting is all about “connecting the dots” and providing innovative ways to learn and practice.

Now in their 5th meeting, ACAM and AAPMD uniquely demonstrate how medicine and dentistry can collaborate in both assessment and treatment of patients using the most advanced methods to give you the edge you need to provide optimal patient care and stand out from the competition.

CONFERENCE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Promoting and sharing knowledge to reduce human and societal toll from neurodegenerative and inflammatory disorders, cancer and infectious diseases.

Advancing understanding of the stress impact of chronic infectious diseases on metabolic, biomic, hormonal, and neurochemical communication networks.

Advancing understanding of the fundamental impact of nutrition on energy utilization, inflammation and metabolism, and its impact on chronic degenerative diseases.

Advancing understanding of the impact of oral pathology, sleep disorders and airway disorders, on immune and repair systems and its impact on chronic degenerative diseases.

Understanding the physiology of exercise on how maintenance of exercise throughout life has a positive impact on overall health, aging and lifespan.

Enhancing care of adults with Alzheimer’s Disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders, based on sound clinical and scientific evidence.

Delivering state-of-the-art preventive medicine and dental strategies to reduce the future burden of chronic disease.

Building Dental Patient Loyalty in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond
Clifford Yurman, MBA, President
Media Consulting Services

Your office was closed, except in emergency cases, for weeks this past year. The Big Questions:

  • How do you help foster patient loyalty?
  • Do patients feel like you care about them?
  • How do you help them understand the importance of sustaining their dental visits?

With the number of COVID-19 cases growing nationwide, and patients potentially more reluctant to visit a practioner, our session suggest strategies to preserve the bond you have with them in an uncertain world.

What we do: Through its dental marketing service, ReadOurNews (readournews.com), Media Consulting Services provides Patient Blogs, eNewsletters, Social Media Services, Review Acquisition and more to dental professionals seeking stronger patient relationships.

Airway, Nutrition: The Practice of the Future
Endeavor Group – Pediatric Dentistry

The dental team treating children can be the first to uncover sleep, breathing and nutritional disorders. Yet, still only a small percentage of practitioners are screening for these problems.

Endeavor is working with the Foundation for Airway Health to reach the public and the AAPMD to connect with all dental practitioners treating children. Early recognition, complete diagnosis and optimal treatment can change the course of a lifetime. Whether new to or advanced in nutritional airway disorders in children, you will learn and benefit from this webinar.

Three Simple Steps for Better Sleep
Stasha Gominak, MD

Recent advances in brain science show that spending too much time indoors plays a role in sleep challenges such as sleep apnea and insomnia. For the last 30 years we’ve been taught that that being in the sun can be dangerous. But being in the sun can be health-promoting if done correctly.
