This webinar is designed to help the learner understand the importance of multiple systems on the production of postural patterns including neck and airway positioning.  With this understanding, the need for a multidisciplinary approach to manage these issues will be addressed.  An example of a program that utilizes this approach will be given.

The learning objectives include:

-Explain the role of Patterned postural asymmetry on Position of the neck and airway

-Explain the role of sensory input (exteroceptively and interoceptively) in Patterning of Patterns

-Explain the role of feet, teeth and vision specifically in Patterning of Patterns

-Explain how and why we utilize a multidisciplinary approach for Repositioning, Retraining, and –Restoring Patterned Posture and Position (PRIME)

-Educate how and when to seek collaborative help and where to start

Torin Berge is a Physical Therapist at The Hruska Clinic in Lincoln Nebraska.  Originally born in Colorado Springs, CO he went to PT school at the University of North Dakota.  Very soon after graduating in 1999 he found the Postural Restoration Institute ® (PRI) continuing education which was in its infancy at that time.  PRI was the first thing that helped answer the big questions of WHY people have the issues they do.  He has been hooked and has utilized PRI principles in his treatment ever since and enjoys now working in the place where it all started.  Along with his PT co-workers, he helps manage and run the PRIME program at the Hruska Clinic working alongside dentists, optometrists and podiatrists to collaboratively treat patients from around the world.   He has a lovely wife, Leslie, whom he met over a dead body in PT school and 5 growing children that keep him on his toes and keep his schedule full!
