This webinar will discuss how to prevent future dental trauma in child patients by addressing how the airway impacts dental care and patient perception. It will cover the neurobiology of trauma, child brain development and learning, airway and child behaviors and how to help children breathe better in the dental chair
Learning Objectives:
Elizabeth Dooher-Anthony, RDH, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist – Elizabeth will tell you she became a dental hygienist by accident. She was supposed to be a rock star. She went to dental hygiene school after working in a dental office at the front desk. Before that, she got her BA in English with Minor in Theater Arts.
She developed a mindset toward her work that has sustained her and created positive patient experiences. She realized she could teach it to others in the hopes they will also benefit. Her airway education helped her understand how the need to breathe drives how patients behave. She uses her performance skills to create a memorable, uplifting experience for her audiences.
Her philosophy of practice is called Serdentity. She has been presenting her seminar since 2006. She published the Serdentity book in 2013. Her articles have been published in RDH print and digital magazines. She hosts the “Serdentity Podcast” on her own Youtube channel.
Elizabeth is from Rochester, NY, and lives there currently with her husband, Michael.
