Airway & Orthodontics: Past, Present & Future
Bill Hang, DDS, MSD

April 13, 2022 @ 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

The future is ripe with opportunities for dentists and orthodontists to do much more for our patients, our practices and the overall health and wellness of our communities. Bill will give his perspective on how the orthodontic profession evolved, where it is now, where it’s going…..and where it could go.

The learner will know that…..

  1. The early orthodontic profession was very much about proper rest oral posture and nasal breathing.
  2. The orthodontic profession evolved into straightening crooked teeth.
  3. The orthodontic profession has the opportunity to come full circle and be part of healthcare.
  4. Having a health-centered (not tooth-centered) practice can benefit both the patients and those providing the care.

Bill Hang has been in private practice since 1975 and is currently practicing in Agoura Hills, CA.  As a student he immersed himself in his orthodontic program and started reading orthodontic journals back to the early 1900s to learn about the evolution of the profession.  Having been traditionally trained, he extracted teeth for crowding and often retracted the teeth.   For the last 40 years, however,  he has  been a pioneer in non-retractive treatments to improve the airway in patients of all ages and recently founded OrthO2Health to teach and mentor doctors about airway healthy orthodontic treatments.
