Dale Bredesen, MD; Michael Gelb, DDS; Susan Maples, DDS; Jack Kall, DMD

August 8, 2023 @ 9:00 pm - 10:30 pm EDT

AAPMD, AAOSH & IAOMTPartners in Collaboration Cures 2023, join with Dr. Dale Bredesen and Apollo Health to continue the conversation with important information on the role of oral health factors in protecting and restoring brain health. The Bredesen Protocol details how its collaborative approach between the medical, dental and other healthcare professions presents a path to prevent and restore brain health to attack dementia, a disease posed to kill 45 million of the current population.

Dr. Dale Bredesen earned his M.D. from Duke University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident in Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), before joining Nobel laureate Stanley Prusiner’s laboratory at UCSF as an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow. He held faculty positions at UCSF, UCLA, and the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Bredesen also directed the Program on Aging at the Burnham Institute before joining the Buck Institute in 1998 as founding President and CEO.

Dr. Bredesen’s research explores previously uncharted territory in explaining the physical mechanism behind the erosion of memory seen in Alzheimer’s disease, and has opened the door to new approaches to treatment. This work has led to the identification of several new therapeutic processes that are showing remarkable early results. Dr. Bredesen is a prodigious innovator in medicine, with over thirty patents to his name. Notably, he put much of his findings and research into the 2017 New York Times‘ Best-Seller, The End of Alzheimer’s.

Dr. Michael Gelb is an innovator in airway, breathing, sleep, and painful TMJ disorders pioneering Airway Centric.™  Dr. Gelb has studied early intervention for sleep disordered breathing (SDB) specializing in how it relates to fatigue, focus, pain, and the effects all of these can have on family health.

Dr. Gelb is a co-inventor of the NORAD, or Nocturnal Oral Airway Dilator appliance that reduces snoring by positioning the patient’s tongue and jaw so that airways stay open.  He has invented a new line of Airway, Performance and Pain over-the-counter products also called Airway Centric™.  Dr. Gelb recently co-founded the American Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD) and a non-profit to prevent the proliferation of chronic disease in the U.S. based on airway, sleep and breathing awareness, research and education.
