Building Bridges to Overcoming the Barriers That Hinder Optimal Sleep: From Before Birth Until Your Last Breath

This will be a lecture touching on many topics, which will include the impact of maternal OSA ( i.e. gestational apnea) on fetal development and the role of early (post-natal) collaborative interventions often involving various pediatric HCP’s (e.g., myofunctional therapists, ENT’s, dentists et al) for OSA screening, definitive diagnoses and treatments when indicated.

The participants will become familiar with the following:

• Key sleep related factors that can hinder fetal development
• Health problems in our pediatric population that are being neglected that result in overuse of stimulant medications
• Common scenarios encountered by physicians that are misdiagnosed because the sleep issue was overlook
• Multiple treatment pathways to improve sleep related breathing disturbances that may require combined treatment approaches
• How to improve your referral network to enhance the level of care to your patients
