Stanley Liu, MD, DDS, FACS
My interest in sleep began with a course called “Sleep and Dreams”, as an undergrad at Stanford. I would later return to Stanford after dental school, medical school, general surgery internship, and oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at UCSF.
I first completed my sleep surgery fellowship with Dr. Robert Riley and the Department of Otolaryngology at Stanford in 2014. Then, for the next 9 years, I focused on expanding the original Riley-Powell Sleep Surgery protocol as an Assistant, and then Associate Professor, of Stanford Medical School. During this time, I presented my work as a keynote speaker at APSS (2019) and World Sleep (2024), among many other impactful conferences.
I published over 100 original texts and articles on sleep apnea care. As a former Stanford Biodesign Faculty Fellow, I advise multiple start-ups and industry partners in sleep and wellness. Currently, as Chair of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Nova Southeastern University, I strive to build a comprehensive Sleep & Wellness Center, leveraging the collective wisdom of dental and medical colleagues.
I am enthused to join AAMPD as a board member and continue to promote health and wellness. www.drstanleyliu.com
