A 56 year-old man presented for a routine dental hygiene visit complaining of chronic soreness around his lower-left molar (#18).

Previously, he had received an occlusal adjustment to relieve pressure from clenching and bruxism.

His health history is negative, except for occasional sinus congestion. Home care is good with no bleeding on probing.

He has been taking an anti-depressant for the past 15 years, which has effectively controlled his depression.
