Over the weekend of December 7, 2013, Dr. Stephen Sheldon, Director of Pediatric Sleep Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, led case-based learning on sleep during a well-attended seminar at NYU College of Dentistry. Participants included dentists, physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
Dr. Sheldon’s interactive method of teaching stressed interdisciplinary strategic thinking and planning. Each participant had the opportunity to act as both student and teacher. Commented Howard Hindin, a Director of AAPMD, “Dr. Sheldon’s course will, no doubt, help participants to better identify, understand, diagnose, treat and refer complex sleep problems.”
