Spring 2022 AAPMD / Liaison CoLAB Meeting presented by TBI with the Airway Circle
Like previous CoLABs we will highlight building interdisciplinary teams: key points to collaboration, news from different Liaison chapters around the world, and guidance in team building. We will also introduce Renata Neheme, founder of Airway Circle and an AAPMD Liaison, who has accepted the task of playing a key role in spreading our message and adding to our Liaison roster.
Our focus on the Spring 2022 CoLAB will be the role of Physical Therapy’s contribution to the all important steps in collaboration to achieve optimal patient results. Brad Gilden, PT, DPT, along other healthcare practitioners, will participate in a panel to discuss how to connect to a local PT, what types of questions to ask, what research and other information would be useful for communication.

Renata Nehme has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2010. She received her associate degree from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA, and her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Georgia Highlands University. While taking a continuing education class in 2016, she was introduced to the world of “Myofunctional Therapy” and immediately knew that was her calling. She was excited to learn that the tenets of myofunctional therapy encapsulate many of her passions which include breastfeeding, the import of early childhood development, and airway health. Growing up as a mouth breather, Renata personally experienced the challenges that those with myofunctional disorders often face. That is why she is so passionate about spreading the knowledge she has acquired regarding airway-related health issues over the years. Eager to help raise awareness of Myofunctional Disorders, in 2021 she founded Airway Circle with the intention of creating a collaborative and multidisciplinary group of like-minded health professionals who share the same passion for learning and giving in the dental health and airway space.
